Previewish – UFC 101 – Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort

August 3, 2009

When there are UFC events, I’m going to do short previews for every single fight on the card individually. Or maybe just the fights schedule for the untelevised undercard. It’ll be a great chance to try and get to know the lesser known guys that fill out the spaces in the PPV shows that are created after quick stoppages. Sometimes, they make the PPV worth the buy.

Jesse “The Ox” Lennox (14-1) vs. Danillo “Indio” Villefort (9-2)

Welterweight

The UFC has Jesse Lennox as 14-1, but Wikipedia and CageWiki have him at 10-1. What’s the truth? Who knows. I assume he’s quit his day job as a paramedic. Back in 2007 before a Gladiator Challenge bout, his finace, Amy Huls said that she got to gain 10 pounds for every scar he got from his fight career. He’s apparently 4-0 since that fight, so hopefully his girl is still tight.

Villefort is the God-son of Big Nog. This will be his UFC debut. He’s fought in a bunch of smaller organizations, most recently in the IFL and WEC in one-fight stints. His IFL win came over Mike Massenzio, if you give a shit. He’s a Brazilian on a 5-fight win streak. Lennox should be cautious.
