UFC On The TV Tonight

June 9, 2009

andreiarlovskiNo live fights this evening, but we do get to see the debut of the “Countdown to UFC 99” this evening. Will it be as in depth as the acclaimed* Previewish Series? I seriously doubt it, but they do what they can with their limited budget. I guess it’ll be nice to hear about the little guys like Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva. Enough about Rolando Delgado already!

Personally, I’m more excited to see Cheick Kongo vs. Cain Velasquez than the main event. I don’t think it’s official, but I’m pretty sure they’re fighting for the next shot at the unified belt. Shane Carwin isn’t all the way there yet, is he? I assume those will be the two fights hyped this evening. It airs at 11pm Eastern. Make sure to DVR because the basketball** game will probably be creeping into the final quarter.

Also on SpikeTV this evening you can catch an old episode of UFC Unleashed at 9pm Eastern. This episode includes Andrei Arlovski UFC debut against Aaron Brink (UFC 28), Andrei Arlovski vs Vladimir Matyushenko (UFC 44), Paul Buentello vs Justin Eilers (UFC 51), and Forrest Griffin vs Bill Mahood (UFC 53). Spoiler alert! None of these fights go the distance.

Enjoy.

**Basketball? What’s that? This is an MMA blog! None of that weak shit in this area.

Question regarding the picture you have up with this post: Exactly how were they able to convince that werewolf to sit still long enough to be half-shaved and put in shorts? Seems like the kind of thing that should’ve been mentioned somewhere in your article, but it went ignored, sir.

An arrogant disposition such as Arlovski’s can only mean he’s somehow related to Eddie Guerrero.
